Gastronomixs has asked Visueeltjes to facilitate a Visualize in the Office workshop on October 18, 2024. The workshop should be part of their the annual training day, where teachers of hospitality vocational education were invited. Chefs who have left the profession and are currently teaching practical or theoretical lessons in cooking at MBO Level 3 and 4. The aim of our workshop is to inspire, in association with the profession of chef, so topics such as cooking techniques in the kitchen, developing a new dish, the creation of a dish were essential to cover.

How do you go from a brilliant idea to a clear, visual pitch? During the Visualize in the Office workshop, with 65 teachers from the hospitality education, we trained drawing skills, shared tips and practiced on the spot in the Fermentation Atelier.

We started with a cooking pan and how a tomato looks like a tomato. We ended by visualizing their last or most special dish in one overview. The following learning objectives were discussed: 1) getting to know the basic principles of business drawing. 2) developing skills to go from a dish (the idea) to making a simple drawing (the image). 3) Providing tools to guide their students in developing their ideas into images, for example: making sketches for a Powerpoint presentation. For the chef, an incentive to add these insights to the development of their food concepts.
