✏︎ Knowledge Center for Inequality

For the spring meeting of the Knowledge Center for Inequality on May 9, 2023, Visueeltjes was asked to contribute ideas on how to make complex research results more transparent.

The Knowledge Center presented its research, “The Inequality Principle between Criminal Justice and the District,” on how criminal justice policy at the city and district levels influences the opportunities and resources of young adults in Amsterdam, both before and after a criminal sanction.

The goal of using visual communication is to put the overall picture of the research into perspective and to foster greater engagement and action.

Visual solution

To reinforce these insights, we provided the following:

A visualization of the research: an overview of the core questions, findings, and opportunities for change. This was presented during the meeting and included in the research report.

A live visual report of the meeting itself: a summary of the introduction and a representation of the key discussions and contributions from the attendees.

This not only made the research content more tangible, but also made the participants’ perspectives visible and shared via the Knowledge Center’s online channels.
